My goal as a psychotherapist is for your life to be filled with freedom, ease, self-awareness and a sense of choice and agency. As adults, we all grapple with the past. We inherited stories, beliefs and habits, and at some point we began creating them ourselves. But in therapy, we explore, untangle, and release these barriers, giving us clarity, freedom and peace of mind. We no longer feel resentment or regret from the past, nor do we fear our future. Rather, we are free to be right here in life, present with those we love, (including ourselves) creating, discovering, and truly experiencing and enjoying our lives.

I've had a wide and varied background in counseling, psychotherapy, and education. I've had a private psychotherapy practice for many years, focusing on personal awareness and removing obstacles to mental, emotional and spiritual freedom. This has included work with individuals (ages 8-80), couples and families to address issues related to: relationships; LGBTQ+ experiences; grief; depression; anxiety; life transitions - births, deaths, marriages, divorces, aging, etc.; personal and spiritual fulfillment; ease and contentedness in life.

I was a founder and the Executive Director of The Joshua School (for children with autism and developmental disabilities) for ten years and a Special Educator in Denver Public Schools for nine. I have a background in Buddhist philosophy and currently teach part-time in the Masters Program at Naropa University in the Mindfulness-Based Transpersonal Counseling Program.

My BA degree from St. Olaf College had an emphasis in Psychology and English and my Masters in Counseling Psychology is from Regis University. I've had a personal meditation practice for decades and provide meditation and mindfulness instruction both at Naropa and privately. I am a member of two Buddhist sanghas (communities): a Tibetan sangha called Tara Mandala, here in Colorado, and a Zen sangha called Buddha Eye, in Eugene, Oregon.

It is one of the greatest honors in my life to work with people in this way. I am consistently humbled and grateful for your trust, and I look forward to working with you.
